Kavya Sawant
Water in a mangrove moves in a very particular way it never rushes through in a straight line. Instead, the roots slow it down, breaking its force, holding soil in place, and filtering sediments. At the same time, the water is never stopped completely; it weaves between the gaps, seeping and flowing gently, almost like breath passing through lungs. This rhythm makes the roots both barriers and gateways.
The mangrove spreads in a networked patternroots anchor deep and wide, branches extend outward, and leaves cluster to capture light and moisture. Together, they create layers of protection and openness, shaping an environment that is both dense and porous.
